With the successful acceptance of China's experimental fast reactor project by experts from the science and technology organization department, it marks the official entry of China's nuclear power technology into the international advanced ranks. Fast reactors have the characteristics of high utilization of uranium resources, transmutation of nuclear waste, and high safety. They are the preferred reactor type for the world's fourth generation advanced nuclear energy systems and represent the development direction of the fourth generation nuclear energy systems. The thermal design power of the Chinese experimental fast reactor is 65 megawatts, and the electrical power is 20 megawatts. It is currently one of the few high-power experimental fast reactors with power generation functions in the world. Its main system settings and parameter selection are the same as those of large fast reactor power plants.
